Ken Choi
High Risk Foot (HRF) Specialist Podiatrist
Languages: English, Korean
Locations: Papatoetoe
Ken’s journey began in South Korea before he moved to New Zealand as a child, growing up in Auckland and completing his Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) at Auckland University of Technology in 2013. Outside of work, Ken enjoys 10-pin bowling and soccer, activities that reflect his long-standing appreciation for movement, balance, and lower-limb health.
Ken’s interest in podiatry strengthened early in his career while working in the Waikato region, where he gained broad experience across general podiatry, diabetic foot care, and routine management within private practice. The variety of complex presentations he encountered helped shape his development as a well-rounded and capable clinician.
Since joining Care Podiatry in 2016, Ken has continued to refine his skills across all areas of podiatric practice. He has provided care in multiple settings—including private clinics, hospital, and geriatric units—delivering thoughtful and patient-centred treatment aimed at preventing complications and supporting long-term foot health. Patients commonly describe him as “gentle and thorough,” appreciating his calm approach and clear communication.
Ken also brings strong experience in the assessment and management of common foot and ankle injuries. As an active soccer player, he has a practical understanding of the demands placed on the lower limb and frequently assists athletes in the local community, including youth soccer players and members of Korean golf groups. His approach integrates tailored footwear advice and orthotic therapy to support recovery, reduce pain, and improve performance.
Ken believes strongly in the importance of maintaining healthy, functional feet, noting that “our feet carry us through everything we do—they deserve the same level of care we give to any other part of the body.”
Ken currently provides private consultations at our Papatoetoe clinic and also supports renal patients at Counties Manukau through his advance clinical role in CMDHB Renal Medicine. With more than a decade of clinical experience, Ken remains one of South Auckland’s most established and trusted podiatrists, committed to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.
